Benjamin Romeo Predicador Rioja 2009

The wines that Benjamin Romeo are making in Rioja are in a class amongst themselves. His labels have arisen to cult-like status, and the Predicador (meaning preacher), now in it’s fourth vintage has a label and name inspired by Clint Eastwood’s Pale Rider, a film which Benjamin loves. A blend of 96% Tempranillo, 3% Garnacha and 1% Viura, the Predicador is an outstanding value, sold at a fraction of the price of his masterpiece “Contador.” Produced using younger vines, but contains the same beautifully crafted style as his other fine cuvees. If you love Spanish wines as much as we do, this is a outstanding introduction to Benjamin Romeo!

“The Brilliant 2009 Predicador is a blend of 96% Tempranillo 3% Garnacha and 1% Viura. It exhibits an opaque purple color beautiful notes of graphite blackberries crushed rocks and chalk full-bodied power a layered opulent texture and a deep dense rich finish that lasts over 30 seconds. Don’t miss it!” Wine Advocate, 93 Points

Brunello di Montalcino is a red Italian wine produced in the vineyards surrounding the town of Montalcino located about 120 km south of Florence in the Tuscany wine region. Brunello, a diminutive of Bruno, a male given name which means brown, is the name that was given locally to what was believed to be an individual grape variety grown in Montalcino.
